  • My heart lies with the shame-filled and brokenhearted, the busy professional who is wearing too many hats and unsure where to set boundaries, the family that is hurting, and those wounded by religion or the opinions of others.

I am an Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) trained practitioner, providing support for clients who have experienced significant trauma.

In addition, I am currently pursuing my American Board of Christian Sex Therapist (ABCST) Sex Therapy Certification with plans to widen my scope of practice to Clinical Sexology in 2026.

I am an LMSW, under supervision of Cindy Reibenstein, LCSW-S. I received my Masters in Social Work from The University of Houston. While there, I was a Fellow in Advanced Mental Health Practices and Integrated Healthcare.

As a Social Worker, my commitment to my clients is so much more than what happens in our session. My desire is to empower you with community resources, access to a wide range of support, and a commitment to providing a space free of judgement or imposing beliefs.

The road to healing is not linear and not done well in isolation. My deepest desire as a psychotherapist is to help you discover what you value, make sense of who the world says you need to be, create an environment where you come to believe that you're never a sum of the worst things that have been done to, or by you. You, reading this right now, are so worth loving, and I can not wait to meet you.

  • While families find their way to my office for a variety of reasons, common threads include overwhelming feelings, pain, and confusion. Hundreds of families have met with me and left with tools to not only understand their child, but that will also benefit their entire family’s social-emotional growth. Recently, a family brought their child to see me due to symptoms of severe anxiety. After just a few sessions, the child was not only using the skills themselves (which decreased her anxiety & her outbursts), but she was also teaching her younger brother how to use those tools!

Over the past 9 years, I have worked with children and teenagers in therapy and completed comprehensive evaluations for over 200 children. Whether we talk about coping skills, or interpersonal skills, or “thought traps,” the progress made during sessions are a combination of children and parents working together. When the child puts in the hard work outside of session and the parents are diligent about helping their child practice the skills (& practicing the skills themselves!), we are able to see incredible transformation and growth.

I am dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized services that help you and your child navigate life’s challenges, grow personally, and enhance overall well-being.

  • Prior to my work as a Christian counselor, I  worked in the public school system as a school counselor for 17 years, and a classroom teacher for 11 years. Most of my experience in working with children, adolescents and adults has been in dealing with ADHD, Aspbergers, abuse, grief, trauma, stress issues related to both home and school, family issues, parenting issues, depression, anxiety and the inability to make and keep close friendships and other life struggles.

I believe it is important that you know the philosophy I take in addressing life issues. I have found in my own personal recovery that my relationship with the Lord is of utmost importance.

In stating that, I want to emphasize that it is important to me to be sensitive to my clients on where they are spiritually and to meet them at their own place in their recovery process. I look at my clients from the perspective of four sides: the spiritual, mental, physical and emotional side. I have found when any one of those sides is out of balance, it makes it difficult to be resilient when life is challenging. I look forward to working with you in the healing journey!

The Arno Profile System assists Christian Counselors by looking at and identifying a persons’ spiritual genetics.

The Arno Profile System (APS Report), named after its founders, Dr. Richard and Phyllis Arno, is the tool used to identify a person’s temperament.

Temperament, in simple terms, is the inborn (not genetic, i.e. brown hair, blue eyes, etc.) part of man that determines how he reacts to people, places, and things. In short, it is how people interact with their environments and the world around them. Temperament pinpoints our perception of ourselves and the people who love us. It is also the determining factor in how well we handle the stresses and pressures of life.

Temperament can best be defined as Spiritual genetics or God’s imprint upon each one of us. Three are involved in the conception of a child, the mother, the father, and the Creator.

  • Why choose me?

Because I get it. I am a ‘Recovering Perfectionist’ that has struggled with anxiety for much of my life.

I know how it feels to get stuck in my own head wondering what others think, trying to do everything ‘right’ (whatever that really means), and putting others before myself. I know what it feels like to want to give up and just avoid everything all together. So when we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist, but also someone who truly understands what you are going through and what it means to find the right balance between challenging yourself and validating your progress to keep you going so you can reach your goals.
