What we do, and what we don't.

We want to be clear and upfront about the scope of our work, so you can decide whether this is the next right step for your competent, specialized gender identity care.

What our work includes

  • A thorough exploration of your gender identity and lived experience

  • Scored assessment across wellbeing, dysphoria, and co-occurring presentations

  • Clarity about your presentation and what it means for your daily life. Honest psychoeducation about what support of gender dysphoria can look like.

  • Support in building a life that feels satisfying and sustainable to you

What we do not provide

  • This includes hormone therapy, surgery, or other medical supports.

  • Letters of support for transitional care pathways to medical providers or otherwise

  • A recommended course of action or directive guidance on next steps is a deeply personal matter. The Reclaimed Collective and Elizabeth Westbrook take seriously their professional role and the trust that comes with Licensure by the State of Texas. We hold no predetermined outcome for our work together, rather, give you and/or your loved one the best clinical information we can to help you be emboldened in your next steps.

You don't need to have all the answers before you reach out. Many people who come to us are still figuring things out, and that's exactly what this space is for.

A gender identity consultation is a confidential, non-judgmental conversation — not a test, and not a process with a predetermined outcome. You lead it at your own pace.

This may be a good fit if you…

You or a loved one are questioning your/their gender identity

There has been uncertainty or curiosity about gender for a while and want a supportive space to explore it.

You/they are experiencing gender dysphoria

There may be feelings of distress about your/their body or how it is perceived by others. Understanding what that means for you is vital to our support at The Reclaimed Collective.

You need a formal assessment

You're working with another clinician or provider who lacks specialized training in gender concerns and need a comprehensive assessment to further your clinical support with your care team.

You want to know what options are available and what questions to ask

Equipping clients with data, risks, dangers, and other outcomes when deciding what is right for them is fundamental to our work. We don’t hide any available options, we also don’t make referrals for care as outlined in Texas statutes.

You're a parent, partner, or family member

Someone close to you is exploring their gender identity and you'd like guidance on how to offer meaningful support.

You're a young person or student

We work with adolescents and young adults who are exploring their identity, with or without parental involvement depending on age and circumstance.

Why we work this way

Our consultations and assessments are focused on one thing: helping you develop a clear, honest understanding of your or a loved one’s gender identity and how it's affecting your/their life. That clinical clarity, not a referral or a personal recommendation, is what we're here to offer.

A satisfying life looks different for every person we work with. For some, it means finding language for experiences they've carried for years, or understanding how their gender identity intersects with other aspects of who they are, including their faith and other relationships. Our role is to support that process, not to steer it.

We don't manage information.

We believe educated clients are safer clients. Even though we don't make referrals, we will never withhold information about what options exist. If medical pathways are relevant to your situation, we'll discuss them openly and honestly as part of your psychoeducation, so you can make informed decisions as you move forward.

This commitment to transparency is at the center of how we work.

About Elizabeth’s Specialized Education + Training

Elizabeth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas and credentialed through the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists and trained through the Institute for Sexual Wholeness and Sexual and Gender Identity Institute — a rigorous, faith-integrated training pathway for clinicians committed to bringing both clinical excellence and Christian conviction into their practice. Her work sits at the intersection of sexual health, identity development, and whole-person care.

Elizabeth has completed advanced training in gender and sexuality under Dr. Mark Yarhouse, one of the foremost researchers and clinicians in the country on gender identity, sexual identity therapy, and the integration of faith and psychological care. This training grounds Elizabeth's assessment and consultation work in the frameworks Dr. Yarhouse has spent decades developing, refining, and teaching to a select group of practitioners. Elizabeth’s Advanced Gender Identity Assessment + Consultation training was completed through the Sexual + Gender Identity Institute under Dr. Mark Yarhouse and Dr. Julia Sadusky.

Her credentialing through the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists reflects a commitment to a standard of care that holds clinical competence and Christian ethics together — not as competing values, but as a unified foundation for practice. The Institute for Sexual Wholeness training is not simply a certificate course. It is a formative clinical pathway that shapes how Elizabeth approaches every client, every assessment, and every consultation she conducts, regardless of religious identity.

Elizabeth is also committed to ongoing collegial consultation as a structural part of how she works. Competent care in a specialized and complex clinical area is never a solo endeavor. She remains accountable to a community of practice, current in her engagement with research and evidence-based frameworks, and committed to the kind of professional humility that serves clients — and the colleagues who refer them — well.

Elizabeth's investment in advanced training is not incidental to the work, it is the work. Families who come to The Reclaimed Collective come from all faith, cultural, and political backgrounds and often navigate some of the most consequential questions of their lives or their children's lives. They deserve a clinician who has done the preparation to serve them well, who remains accountable to a community of practice, and who brings both the credentials and the character to hold that responsibility with integrity.

Elizabeth is the only clinician in Texas practicing with this advanced gender identity training in gender and sexuality — making The Reclaimed Collective the singular clinical resource for families, colleagues, and faith communities across the state for these specific assessments + consultations.
